Pearl Girls charity Hosts a Culinary Extravaganza!

WINGS to Host a Culinary Extravaganza

SCHAUMBURG, IL – Women in Need Growing Stronger will be hosting a culinary extravaganza, Taste Takes Flight to raise money to help victims of domestic violence. This delicious fundraiser will feature samples of international cuisine prepared by chefs from top restaurants and caterers in the northwest suburbs of Chicago including Barrington Bistro, L’Eiffel Bistrot, McGonigal’s Pub, Park Avenue Wine Bar, Dave’s Specialty Foods, PL8, Francesca’s, Agio Italian Bistro, Wild Asparagus, Onion Pub, The Meadows Club, Cucina Pazza, Starbucks and Sugar n Spice Cookies. Tom Jiaras, the president of International House of Wine and Cheese and sommelier, will provide a variety of wine tastings. http://www.forwinelovers.com/ Tickets are priced at $50 and $100 for VIP tickets.

VIP guests will enjoy an exclusive chef experience with Carl Raymond, Chef Instructor at Astor Center in New York City http://www.astorcenternyc.com/instructor-carl-raymond.ac as well as an incredible sommelier experience with Tom Jiaras who will present wine tastings from his special reserve. 

There will also be a boutique that will have specialty items from Crate and Barrel, WINGS Upscale Resale, Private Quarters, Silpada, Cortez Designer Jewelry, DesignWise, Arbonne, True Core Pilates and Tea House and many more unique shops.   

While sipping, sampling and shopping, guests will also enjoy cooking demonstrations by chefs onstage and on the main floor, including the Young Chefs’ Academy in Glenview.  The highly esteemed Michael Taus, chef/owner of Chicago’s Zealous http://zealousrestaurant.com/home/index.html and Timothy Canning, chef/owner of The Lemon Tree http://www.lemontreegrocer.com/  will be featured in a video demonstration.

Great auction and raffle items are also available, including an evening of food and wine with Chicago's premier off-premise catering company, Finesse Cuisine http://finessecuisine.com/, to include chef demonstration, menu and specialty gifts of printed menus and recipes as a keepsake of this special occasion.  The winner can choose either a seated dinner for 12 or a cocktail party for 25. WHAT: WINGS Taste Takes Flight

WHEN: Friday, April 29, 2011 from 10:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M.

WHERE: The Meadows Club, Rolling Meadows, IL

WINGS, based in northwest Illinois; offers transitional housing, emergency shelter, and outreach services. The Safe House, a 15,000 square foot facility opened in January of 2005, has helped over 700 individuals escape abusive relationships. The facility can house up to 45 clients each night and provides medical, legal, and financial support as well as therapeutic counseling and access to housing and other resources. In addition to the Safe House, the agency has 25 apartments and homes located in Chicago, north and northwest suburban Cook County and Lake County.
